The message in The Greatness Zone is so compelling and identifiable. As I followed the unfolding story between Michael and Mary, I too was unveiling a part of me in which I was out of touch. It is amazing to know the difference a few impactful reflective questions can make in and on your life.

As I paused to give provoking thought to the three circles, my true calling was more clearly brought before my eyes. You see, I became an educator because I did not want to do the hard work of becoming an attorney to advocate for the poor and elderly (my true passion at the time of heading to college) and then on to run for public office. As time has passed so quickly, I immersed myself into the field of education and worked to attain advanced degrees because I was never quite happy with simply being contained within the four walls of a classroom. I always knew that there was more for me to do and that there was something inside of me that needed to be shared with the world, not stored up within walls.

Reading The Greatness Zone reminded me of my desire to want to help others be the best that they can be and advocate for those who don’t have a voice (for whatever reason). It is now that I finally understand why I feel so strongly about empowering others to push past mediocrity. Thank you for sharing who you are and the greatness within your zone.
